calling in revolutionary

no, really.
if you don't know what i'm talking about, google "madison, WI" and check out the recent news

i'd also like to say, that although i've been participating, there are so many people that are doing so much more. i have the deepest respect for everyone who is working 24/7, sleeping at the capitol, and helping people organize. thank you.

read the story...

WTF?? this mean that they can outlaw unions? can they do that? what about the rights you have in the states the constituation (spelling?) thingy?

they wouldn't get away with that over here!

workers union rights are completely separate from our rights as citizens. the right for union workers to negotiate was established in wisconsin over 50 years ago but everyone here is INSANE now, voted in a republican, and he wants to take that right away. we're doing our best to make sure they can't get away with it here but it's hard. the republicans are sending people to counter-protest tomorrow. so. yeah. it's a bit scary. but we're going to keep trying, keep going to the capitol, keep marching about singing stupid songs and dancing. it is my firm belief that you overthrow cruelty with dance. :)

How is it that "workers' rights" and "patients' rights" have been made separate from "citizen's rights"? That's not a WI problem, it's a USA problem.

Good luck with the "counter protest". I'm sure Karl Rove will bus in only the best and the brightest.

At least the media now seem to be making the distinction between the budget-cutting aspects of the bill and the union-busting parts.

as zmithy said what is the difference? as a non-us citizen this has me totally f'in miffed & confused!!

if they tried that over here people would take it to the human rights commission in europe. do you have anything similar over there?

you live in a better nation than we do, evidently.

the saddest thing is that there's a fairly large group of people here who detest the unions. those people WANT this to happen. they think that unionized workers are getting paid too much, have too much healthcare (yeah, only in america can people believe that other people have too much healthcare).

so the only thing to do is to attend the rallies and hope that someone notices. and REALLY hope that it all works out in favor of union's rights.

too much healthcare? wtf? & people are better being in a union than not.

i personally am not in a union cause am a temp worker but i still have rights as a temp worker.

i thought america was forward thinking & all on for people's human rights, turns out i was wrong.

*huggs* i hope this bill doesn't go through.

Keep dancing on the capital steps, Sara, and please start talking about how this bill will effect healthcare for the poor, families, and seniors in WI. They have no union representation. The powers behind Walker's throne wrote in a provision to change the process of how Medicaid is handled, namely without legistative procedure. Who knows what other surprises there are in the bill. And, no we won't back down.
